Board members Martin and Václav Klán say,“For us, the Bell #9801 initiative symbolizes a reference to history that needs to be constantly remembered. We see this project as very powerful and resonant. Like the bells that have been silenced and deserve to write the next chapter of their story.”
We are proud partners in an initiative to recognise the bell, which is a memento of cultural loss. During the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, 9,801 bells were turned into weapons. For every bell destroyed, one kilogram was put into a new bell weighing a total of 9801 kg.
