Under the hood of sustainable construction – benefiting nature and people

31/05/2022

Sustainable construction practices are good for both the environment and future tenants. In addition, companies that use cleaner technologies will see their investments pay for themselves several times over the years.

Nature and inhabitants are happy

Architects and planners are increasingly following sustainable development principles when designing office, residential and public buildings. They propose solutions that reduce the maintenance costs of the building and its negative impact on the environment. The use of heat recovery, condensing boilers and insulation materials are just the tip of the iceberg of practices aimed at saving primary energy sources. This effectively reduces environmental costs in the production of building materials and in the construction itself.

Responsibility lies on the shoulders of architects and investors

The basis of climate neutrality, i.e. an economy with net zero greenhouse gas emissions, is a design that takes advantage of the natural environmental conditions in which the building will stand. The next steps are to choose suppliers that use low-emission manufacturing methodologies, to introduce energy-saving technologies and to choose materials that can be recycled repeatedly. The responsibility therefore lies not only with architects, but also with investors, material manufacturers and general building contractors. The result of this cooperation is a positive impact on the environment, lower operating costs and the prestige of development companies.

Modern technology goes hand in hand with sustainability

Amádeus Real, the company behind the developer Václav Klán, also cares about sustainable construction. “For example, we use dry construction, which does not require milling into the wall, and combine it with modern technologies such as smart climate control and heat recovery. Thanks to these procedures, heat is recovered and the cost of heating the building is reduced,” informs Václav Klán. An example is the new urban district AMESIDE, which will be built in the centre of Pilsen.

The company selects all suppliers to ensure that the materials meet the most demanding requirements, are sustainable and have a long service life. When designing projects, they also think about how to get as much greenery into city centres as possible to cool the space and reduce dust. More nature in cities is also appreciated by the inhabitants themselves.
